Nurse Practitioner Comes Home to Practice

Lawrenceburg, TN…Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Lawrenceburg (STRHS - Lawrenceburg) officials announce the addition of nurse practitioner and Lawrence County native, Jennifer Hester Bowling to the medical team. 

“It is always nice to see someone bring their talent and expertise back to Lawrence County and we are pleased to have Jennifer joining us,” said hospital CEO, Jeff Noblin.   “She will be working in our Summertown Medical Center, along with Dr. John Shields and nurse practitioner, Amy Barnhill.  Together they will provide not only the residents of northern Lawrence County convenient quality of care, but the surrounding areas as well.”

Jennifer is a Lawrence County High School graduate where many will remember her playing basketball.  She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing with honors from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, and her Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in Nashville.  She has worked at St. Thomas Hospital as a nurse extern, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in the Emergency Department and gained a number of years of her nurse practitioner experience in a family practice and at Walgreen’s Healthcare Clinic in Murfreesboro.  Jennifer is also a certified CPR Healthcare Provider.

Jennifer and the healthcare team at Summertown Medical Center provide health care seven days a week with lab and x-ray located on site.  Services at the Center include urgent care, family care, suturing, school and sport physicals, basic vaccinations, TB screening, minor surgical procedures, and much more.  Walk-ins are welcomed although appointments may
